Mexican Air Force UFO footage

On March 5th, 2004, Mexican Air Force pilots were carrying out a regular military patrol against drug smugglers, filmed some highly unusual infra-red footage of at least eleven unidentified spherical objects moving through Mexican airspace. Nothing was seen with the naked eye, nor were the objects detected in radar, although an unknown radar target had been picked up earlier. The Mexican military took the unprecedented step of releasing the footage to the public, via Mexican UFO researcher, Jaime Maussan, on May 13th, 2004.

Some attempts have been made to debunk the footage, most notably in this article. What do you think? Here's the footage, along with a couple of news reports on the matter. As ever, I'm trying to keep an open mind on the matter. However, I, with two or three other witnesses, saw an object very similar to the ones shown on the footage, sometime in late 1990. It was slightly larger than a full moon, and of a similar color, and basically looked like a luminous bubble. However, it was not the moon, as it flew very rapidly, from east to west, heading into thick cloud, which it then illuminated from within. We were able to keep tracking it for a few minutes, until it dimmed and then became completely obscured.
